Plan the finished wall before you peel

Check the dimensions or pack quantity shown above, then measure the area you want to decorate. For scattered decal sets, spacing pieces about 25cm apart is a useful starting point, not a fixed rule. Larger designs and grouped scenes should follow the proportions shown in the product images.

• Arrange every piece on the floor first.
• Photograph the arrangement so you can follow it at the wall.
• Use light removable markers to map key positions before removing the backing.

Adhesion depends on the wall beneath the decal

Your wall must be smooth, sound, clean and completely dry. Dust, grease, texture, flaking paint and washable or stain-resistant paint additives can prevent a self-adhesive decal from bonding correctly.

• Allow newly painted walls to cure for at least 30 days before applying any prep coat or decal.
• In Australia, we recommend Viponds Self Adhesive Prep Coat to create a surface made for self-adhesive films.
• Viponds advises allowing its final coat to cure for at least 24 hours under suitable conditions before applying self-adhesive material. Follow the current product instructions and allow longer in cool or humid conditions.
• Test one decal in a discreet area before installing the full set.

Position first, then smooth from the centre out

1. Make sure your hands and wall are clean and dry.
2. Peel the backing away gradually rather than removing it all at once.
3. Position the decal without stretching the fabric.
4. Press from the centre towards the edges with a clean, dry hand or soft cloth.
5. If the position is not right, lift carefully and reposition it early in the installation.

Remove slowly and treat decals as decorative products

Start at one corner and peel the decal slowly back on itself at a low angle. Gentle warmth from a hairdryer on its lowest setting can soften the adhesive if needed. Paint condition, preparation and age can affect removal, so no self-adhesive product can be guaranteed damage-free on every wall.

Wall decals are decorative items, not toys. They can be peeled from the wall and may create a choking hazard. Keep them out of reach of young children, do not position them above cots or children's beds, and provide adult supervision.
