Accessibility Statement
Effective date: 30 March 2026
Last reviewed: 9 June 2026
1. Scope and Commitment
Bonheur Creatives Pty Limited (ABN 63 618 780 573), trading as Olive et Oriel (“we”, “our”, “us”), is committed to ensuring that our website oliveetoriel.com (“the Website”) is accessible to all users, including persons with disabilities.
We recognise our obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) and the guidance provided by the Australian Human Rights Commission regarding web accessibility. For our international customers, we also reference the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III (United States) and EN 301 549 (European Union).
2. Target Standard
Our target accessibility standard is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). This is the internationally accepted standard for web accessibility and is referenced by Australian, United States, and European legislation.
3. Conformance Level
As of the last review date, we assess the Website as partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some aspects of the content do not yet fully conform to the standard. The areas of non-conformance are listed in Section 5 below.
4. What We Have Implemented
We have taken the following measures to support accessibility across the Website:
- Colour contrast: All foreground text meets or exceeds a contrast ratio of 4.5:1 against its background, consistent with WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 1.4.3.
- Text resizing: All body text is set at a minimum of 14px and can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality, consistent with WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 1.4.4.
- Touch target sizing: All interactive elements (buttons, links, form controls) meet a minimum target size of 44×44 CSS pixels, consistent with WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 2.5.5.
- Keyboard accessibility: All pages and interactive elements are operable via keyboard alone, with visible focus indicators, consistent with WCAG 2.1 Success Criteria 2.1.1 and 2.4.7.
- Accessible names and roles: ARIA labels, roles, and states are applied to navigation menus, drawers, dialogs, form inputs, buttons, and interactive widgets, consistent with WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 4.1.2.
- Image alternative text: Descriptive alternative text has been applied to all product images across the Website (15,920+ images). Alt text describes the visual content of each image to support screen reader users, consistent with WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 1.1.1.
- Heading structure: Pages follow a logical heading hierarchy (H1 through H6) to support document navigation by assistive technology, consistent with WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 1.3.1.
- Motion and animation: All CSS animations and transitions respect the prefers-reduced-motion operating system setting, consistent with WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 2.3.3.
- Link purpose: External links include appropriate security attributes. Links are descriptive and distinguishable, consistent with WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 2.4.4.
- Page language: The primary language of each page is declared in the HTML, and the skip-to-content navigation link is present for keyboard users, consistent with WCAG 2.1 Success Criteria 3.1.1 and 2.4.1.
5. Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, we acknowledge the following areas of non-conformance or limitation:
- Third-party content: The Website relies on third-party services including the Shopify platform, Shopify Payments, and embedded widgets (wishlist, email marketing, reviews). The accessibility of these components is partially outside our direct control. We work with providers who have stated commitments to accessibility, but we cannot guarantee full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance for all third-party elements at all times.
- User-generated content: Some content submitted by third parties (such as customer reviews) may not meet all accessibility standards. We review and remediate this content on a reasonable-efforts basis.
- PDF documents: Some downloadable documents may not yet be fully accessible. We are working to remediate these and provide accessible alternatives upon request.
6. Ongoing Monitoring
We conduct monthly accessibility reviews across all pages and templates on the Website. New content is required to meet our internal accessibility standards before publication. We monitor relevant legislative and standards developments and update our practices accordingly.
7. Privacy Compliance
We maintain compliance with applicable privacy legislation, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles, the General Data Protection Regulation (EU/UK), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Details are available on our GDPR compliance page and CCPA compliance page.
8. Feedback and Contact
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of the Website. If you experience any difficulty accessing any part of our site, or wish to report an accessibility concern, please contact us:
- Email: hello@oliveetoriel.com
- Subject line: Website Accessibility Feedback
We will acknowledge receipt of accessibility feedback within two business days and aim to resolve reported issues within a reasonable timeframe.
9. Limitation of Liability
This statement reflects our current understanding of the accessibility of the Website as of the last review date. We have taken reasonable measures to identify and remediate accessibility barriers. However, we do not warrant that the Website achieves full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance at all times, and we disclaim liability for any inaccessibility arising from third-party content, platform limitations, or issues not yet identified. We are committed to continuous improvement and will update this statement as our compliance posture evolves.
