Wall Decals
Follow our simple guide to ensure you get the best outcome when decorating with wall decals
Self-adhesive wall decals are a fantastic semi-permanent decorating solution. However, not all wall paint likes self-adhesive product - in fact, some wall paint won't allow anything to adhere, from grubby fingerprints to wall decals.
So it's important you prep your wall, if you have any doubt on the type of paint used.
Wall decals can stick to:
- Glass
- Vinyl
- Mirrors and,
- Walls
Essentially, they will stick to any smooth, flat and dry surface that has not been painted with 'washable' type paints. Unfortunately, 'washable' type paints will repell your beautiful decals and not allow them to adhere to your wall.
In order to ensure your wall is properly prepared for these high quality self-adhesive decals, you will need to apply Viponds self-adhesive prep coat (it's a clear, matte product specific for preparing walls for self-adhesive products - and don't worry, as it's clear and matte, it's perfect for renters!)
IMPORTANT: Cosmetic damages to paint and your wall(s) may occur - unfortunately as every interior environment is unique and the method of wall preparation from the time it was originally installed and cleaned before originally priming and painting is far too unique and broad for a product to be deemed that it won't cause any damages at all. We are unable to predict if or when this may occur.
With many very happy customers not experiencing this issue and a handful having experienced it, we feel it is important to advise of any potential cosmetic damages that may occur.
Cosmetic damages to walls are easily treated by lightly sanding and repainting.
Always allow a freshly painted wall 30 days minimum to cure before applying Viponds or wall decals.

Wall decals, although they look fun are NOT toys.
It is important you always supervise your child around wall decals as they are very easy to remove.
We strongly advise against putting decals above a childs bed and that you keep out of reach of children.
